Head Coaching Staff

Our coaching staff represents the pinnacle of international fencing. We provide more than just instruction; we provide a lineage of championship success.

Alexandr Shirshov

A legendary figure in world fencing, Alexandr Shirshov is an Olympic Gold Medalist (1992 Barcelona) and a World Champion. During his distinguished competitive career, he was a mainstay of the Unified Team and the Russian National Team, known for his tactical brilliance and explosive speed. Transitioning into coaching, Shirshov became one of the most respected technical minds in the sport. As a former coach for the Russian National Team, he has shaped the careers of multiple world-class fencers, including World Champion Kamil Ibragimov and Junior World Champion Konstantin Lokhanov. His coaching philosophy centers on technical perfection and the psychological “will to win.”

Aleksey Frosin

Aleksey Frosin is a celebrated Olympic Gold Medalist (2000 Sydney) and a three-time World Champion. Renowned for his analytical approach to the weapon, Frosin was a dominant force on the international circuit for over a decade. His expertise lies in the “physics of the hit”—the precise coordination of footwork and blade work required to win at the highest speed. As a veteran coach for the Russian National Team, Frosin has spent years deconstructing the modern game for elite athletes, focusing on situational tactical awareness and defensive mastery that has led his students to numerous international podiums.
